In our professional opinion, any time of year is a great time to replace your flooring or tile if it is no longer your style, damaged, old, or not serving the needs of your home or business.

That being said…I want to make a case that summer might be the best time to take that plunge and finally refloor or retile your space. Hear me out!

1. Dry Weather

While we are still getting some storms here in Central Texas, we are approaching the dryer months of the year. Why does the weather matter?

While our operations team and installers will always take the utmost care of your materials and make sure the project is completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible, rainy conditions can cause some delays or issues that may complicate the process.

For instance, all engineered hardwood and most luxury vinyl or laminate flooring needs to acclimate for some amount of time before being installed. Wet conditions could extend the timeline of your project if the materials needed to dry out or wait for better conditions to acclimate.

Once we receive materials, we store them in our warehouse and ensure that they are protected from the elements, but with wet conditions, there is always a risk of it being exposed to moisture somewhere along the way.

And then of course, there are your beautiful new floors to think about! If you have a home full of kiddos, pets (or both), or a business with lots of foot traffic, inclement weather means a lot more muddy footprints to clean up!

2. More Flexibility in Your Schedule

While this may not be true for everyone, many of us take some time off in the summer or have a more flexible schedule. Kids are home from school, so you don’t have all of the extracurricular activities, homework to get done, and places to be.

We will always do our best to work around your schedule, but summer is a great time to play outside, or go hang out at the pool while your floors and/or tile are renovated.

Or even better-schedule your install while the kids are at camp!

3. Beat the Fall Rush

Typically, fall is the time that renovation projects ramp back up and stores like ours are busier. So, be strategic and come in during a time that is usually not as busy - the summer months.

Of course we always try to be as attentive as we can to each customer, but naturally, having less projects going on could ensure that our installers are more available and therefore your space can be transformed even quicker!

Plus, once the holiday season hits, you will have fresh new floors ready for hosting. Living through a home (or business) renovation while dealing with the hustle and bustle of school starting, Thanksgiving prep, Christmas shopping, while doable, can be more challenging.
